FACE LIFT/NECK LIFT
Face lift and neck lift are the terms often used to describe techniques that can help restore the youthful volume, contour, and shape of the face and neck. Face lift procedures are designed to turn the clock back ten to fifteen years, which allow our patients to appear refreshed, energized, and rejuvenated but not operated on.
Over time, gravity, sun exposure, and stress can take their toll on the aging face. As skin and tissue lose elasticity, gravity begins to pull them downward. All of this descending tissue and lax skin accumulates in the lower part of the face, obscuring the clean line of the jaw and creating wrinkles and jowls. In addition, the neck typically takes on a saggy, banded appearance and begins to blend in with the lower face
The goal of facelift surgery is not only to lift and tighten loose and sagging skin, but also to elevate the underlying soft tissue of the face into a more natural and youthful position. With years of advanced aesthetic training, Dr. McKissock appreciates and understands the nuanced relationships between facial structure, soft tissue, and skin. He can employ a variety of surgical techniques to reduce the signs of aging, while restoring natural balance and proportion to the face and neck.
Many procedures can be combined with facelift surgery to achieve the best results. These include other surgical procedures, such as eyelid lift, browlift, neck lift, or chin augmentation, as well as minimally invasive techniques, such as laser skin resurfacing, fat grafting, dermal fillers, and medical grade chemical peels.
Facelifts are most effective for patients who want to correct:
* Midface sagging
* Deep creases under the eyes
* Deep creases between the nose and mouth
* Jowls due to loss of muscle tone
* Sagging areas of fat
* Loose skin and fat under the chin and jaw
